Media Attacks Trump For Saying "A Bomb Went Off In NY"...But Hillary Said Same Thing

The media is growing increasingly unnerved at the fact that their endless attacks on Trump appear not to be having an affect on his poll numbers and at the fact that Trump pwned them twice in 2 days. They decided the only thing to do is ramp up the number of hit pieces.  Check the Washington Post and New York Times for reference.  The media is always looking for an opportunity to attack Trump.  It only takes a sentence or a fragment of one.  The media decided there was an opportunity to portray Trump as as too reactionary and therefore non Presidential.

Donald Trump opened his rally in Colorado and said that a bomb went off in NYC - mind you he was briefed on the plane before he got off.  The media, however, has determined that Trump jumped the gun in saying that bomb went off.  They said that wasn't confirmed yet.  Don Lemon contrasted Trump's response to Hillary's where a commentator on there raved and essentially said she seemed more Presidential.

Full Trump statement:

Thank you everybody!  Wow!  This is great, in a hanger yet, right, in a hanger!  Boy oh boy.  It's a movement like they haven't seen before.  I wanted to tell you that, just before I got off the plane, a bomb went off in New York, and nobody knows exactly what's going on, but boy, we are living in a time...we better get very tough, folks, we better get very, very tough.  It just happened, so we'll find out, but it's, it's a terrible thing that's going on in our world and and in our country, and we are going to get tough and smart and vigilant.  And we're gonna end it.  We're gonna end it.  So we'll see what it is.  We'll see what it is is.

First, he was briefed.  Just because the media didn't know what caused it at that time, doesn't mean Trump didn't have more info.  Granted, De Blasio didn't call it a bomb yet officially, but we don't know what Trump was told behind the scenes.  CNN sourced the FDNY saying it was an IED.  This was released on the network after Trump spoke, but that doesn't mean Trump wasn't told on the plane in briefing.  Second, what else could have caused the explosion with the exception of gas, a transformer, etc.?   Third, does that sound like a man who has all the answers?  He says that "nobody knows exactly what's going on" and "we'll see what it is."  Fourth, Trump told people that it's terrible, but, "...we are going to get tough and smart and vigilant.  And we're gonna end it.  We're gonna end it."  Reassuring I think.  Obama and Hillary can say all the right things, but we need all the right actions.  Their policies have enabled the growth of ISIS. Finally, and most importantly, Hillary Clinton also proceeds to call it a bomb as well, but that's different of course.

I have compiled examples from various media outlets and reporter Twitter accounts (make sure you check out the Washington Post headline disparity if nothing else):

Note Noah's wording. Explosion, not bomb.

Sopan writes an article for CBS.com

“I must tell you that just before I got off the plane, a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows exactly what’s going on,” Trump said.

Some in the crowd audibly gasped. Trump gave no further information. In large part, Trump was right. Nobody knew exactly what was going on. But it didn’t stop Trump from telling a crowded airport hangar that a bomb had gone off – though at the time he had no confirmation. At that time, the only reports that were circulating were filled with speculation. Neither the NYPD or the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) had confirmed that there was a bomb, only that they were responding to reports of an explosion in the Chelsea area of Manhattan.

The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment on whether Trump had been told that a bomb had exploded in Manhattan or who briefed him on the explosions that occurred.

Hours later, New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio said in a news conference that the city believed that the explosion was “an intentional act.”

Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton also referred to the explosion in Chelsea as a “bombing,” telling reporters late Saturday night, “I’ve been briefed about the bombings in New York and New Jersey.” But Clinton’s comments came after De Blasio had characterized the explosion as “an intentional act” and after she had spoken with the mayor’s office. However, she added, “I think it’s always wiser to wait until you have information before making conclusions.” And Clinton said she’d “have more to say about it when we actually know some facts.”

Look at this blatant shilling for Hillary Clinton.  Look at this.  He justifies her using the same language as Trump because De Blasio said it was intentional, even though he said it was an explosion and didn't use the term bomb.

Then he lists times he thinks that Trump jumped the gun like:

It wasn’t the first time Trump has speculated before the totality of facts had been revealed.
In the immediate aftermath of the Nice terror attacks in France in July, Trump called into Fox News to immediately to make the link to Islamic terror, before it was confirmed that this was the case.

HE WAS RIGHT!

In June, soon after the mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Trump tweeted:

Reporting that Orlando killer shouted "Allah hu Akbar!" as he slaughtered clubgoers. 2nd man arrested in LA with rifles near Gay parade. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 12, 2016

At the time Trump tweeted this, it was not confirmed that this was the case.

HE WAS RIGHT!

Note that nowhere in the article is the full statement posted where Trump says "nobody knows exactly what's going on" and "we'll see what it is."

CNN

Trump just called early reports of an explosion in New York a "bomb." No confirmation of that yet. "We've got to get very tough," he says

Amid reports of explosion in NYC - which Trump called, w/o confirmed reports, a "bomb" - Trump doing usual political attacks against Clinton

Before officials confirm cause of explosion, Trump calls it a "bomb" 30 mins after initial reports:

Colorado Springs, Colorado (CNN)Donald Trump on Saturday night quickly described early reports of an explosion in New York by telling his supporters here that a "bomb went off" in that city.

Trump made the statement before local officials had publicly confirmed details of the incident or what caused the explosion. Typically, national political figures use caution when describing unfolding situations and law enforcement actions.
"Just before I got off the plane, a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows exactly what's going on," Trump said at a campaign rally here.

Two hours after Trump spoke, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said the explosion "was an intentional act."

But, he said, "there is no evidence at this point of a terror connection." And the city's police commissioner, James O'Neill, said the "exact nature and cause" of the blast "has not yet been determined."

The Trump campaign did not respond to numerous requests for comment Saturday night on whether Trump had any evidence the explosion was a bomb or whether he was in contact with NYC officials.
Trump's Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, spoke to reporters in White Plains nearly two hours after the explosion and similarly called the incident a "bombing."

Clinton said she had been in touch with various New York City officials. She declined to answer a question about what effect, if any, the explosion would have on the 2016 race.

It is not until paragraphs further in the article that he mentions Trump was briefed prior to getting off the plane.  No mention of that in his Tweets, though, which are retweeted by liberals who hate Trump.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/17/politics/donald-trump-new-york-city-explosion/index.html

Note he does add the "no one knows exactly what is going on," but he doesn't add "we'll see what it is."

Another one to round it out too:

Nope. Not before Trump said this.

Once again, just because CNN released info on air after Trump said it, it doesn't mean Trump wasn't given that info in a briefing.

Actual contents of article didn't elaborate on anything except quote Trump, and they do provide full quote.  However, contrast that to their headline for Hillary (who also said a bomb went off):

This sort of BLATANT BIAS is why Donald Trump banned them from his rallies.  They have multiple hit pieces up on Trump including one calling him a charlatan because his hotel is expensive and not everything in the room is made in the USA and another saying Don Jr.s "missteps seem to involve white nationalists and Nazis."

ASSOCIATED PRESS

New from : Trump appears to preempt NYC officials, publicly deems explosion "a bomb" before investigators do

Donald Trump appeared to pre-empt New York City officials when he declared Saturday evening that a "bomb went off" in New York City before officials had released details.

"I must tell you that just before I got off the plane a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows what's going on," Trump said, minutes after stepping off his plane during a rally at an airport hangar in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He continued: "But boy we are living in a time -- we better get very tough, folks. We better get very, very tough. It's a terrible thing that's going on in our world, in our country and we are going to get tough and smart and vigilant."
The Republican presidential nominee made the comments around 9:10 p.m., shortly after the explosion in Manhattan's crowded Chelsea neighborhood and as emergency officials were responding to the blast.

Local authorities have said they believed the explosion, which injured 29, was an "intentional act," but declined to answer questions about the cause at a news conference that began about two hours after Trump spoke.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said then that it was "too early to determine specifically what the incident was caused by" and that the investigation was still underway.

Note: also left out the "we'll see what it is."

(Snip)

Now Clinton:

Trump's rival Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, sought to present a more cautious response, underscoring the difference between the two candidates' styles.

Clinton was briefed on the incidents shortly after her speech to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner in Washington.
After landing in suburban New York City, Clinton told reporters she had been briefed "about the bombings in New York and New Jersey and the attacks in Minnesota." She said, "we need to do everything we can to support our first responders — also to pray for the victims. We have to let this investigation unfold."

Hillary calls it a bombing too, but can we defend her?  You better believe the AP is going to try:

Clinton was referring to a pipe bomb that exploded in a New Jersey shore town and reports of a shooting and a stabbing at a Minnesota mall.

Oh, so when she referred to bombing she was only referring to New Jersey, eh?  Even other reporters didn't make that distortion.

Clinton, asked about Trump's saying that a "bomb" had gone off in New York, said it was "important to know the facts about any incident like this," adding, "I think it's always wiser to wait until you have information before making conclusions, because we are just in the beginning stages of trying to determine what happened."

Unfreakingbelievable.
