Responding To A Gaurdian Reporter's Account of Following Trump On Campaign Trail

Hello!  This is a blog I am doing in support of Trump for President.  I will try to repudiate things said in the media I see as untrue and address news.  If I see something that I feel needs criticizing, I will do so, not to hurt Trump, but because I want him to win.

One thing that I have taken to doing is taking articles from the MSM that I feel are dishonest or unfair and have done repudiations of them.

I am going to start with one of those I did a couple months ago:

Inside the topsy-turvy world of Trump: what I learned on the campaign trail (Barf Alert)

The Gaurdian ^ | June 10, 2016 | Ben Jacobs

“Nothing matters. Nothing matters. Nothing matters.”

For reporters covering the presidential election and Donald Trump, this has become a mantra. His candidacy has confounded every expectation and violated every rule. The result has been a funhouse mirror of a campaign, in which nothing quite seems real.

It’s not that up is down and down is up. That would signify that things may yet return to normal. Instead, basic words and concepts no longer bear any relation to the truth as we knew it. In Trump world, meaning has become so refracted and strange that up is purple and down is pineapple and it’s all about making America great again.

I have covered Donald Trump for almost a year. I have followed him around the country, attending around 50 events at every possible venue, from Iowa barns to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. On the way, he has transformed himself from political sideshow to potential president.

Last June, Trump’s entry into the race was considered the political version of a novelty song, his candidacy more akin to that of the satirist Pat Paulsen than that of Ross Perot. He had hinted at running so many times over 30 years. He was the boy who cried wolf. When he finally announced his candidacy, descending an escalator at Trump Tower to say Mexico was sending rapists across the border, he was laughed off by many in the media. Voters weren’t laughing.

This is the guy for the UK Gaurdian assigned to cover Trump on the campaign trail. A quick look at his tweets indicates he doesn't like Trump, but this article solidifies it. The article doesn't pretend to be objective, and for the record, Katy Tur (the embed assigned by NBC to cover Trump) has retweeted the article, so her obvious disdain for Trump is well known.

I will bet you the people covering Hillary on the campaign trail don't have the disdain of the people covering Trump.

Anyway, I will address some points in this article to illustrate liberal media bias:

descending an escalator at Trump Tower to say Mexico was sending rapists across the border

The media has distorted this to make it sound like Trump thinks all people that come across the border are rapists. He never said that, but it is absolutely a fact that some of the people who come here illegally commit rape.

In his attack on the Fox News host Megyn Kelly, implying that her tough questioning in the first presidential debate was caused by menstruation,

It's interesting the media automatically assumed he was referring to her menstrual cycle. He said he was going to say nose but didn't finish the statement. Could he have been referring to her menstrual cycle? Maybe, but the point is that I don't know and neither does the press, yet they keep running with that.

Not only was he not interested in policy, he didn’t particularly care to learn about it or even feign any knowledge. He spoke in broad strokes and made assertions that were controversial at best and often outright lies.

He claimed Syrian refugees were Isis sleeper agents,

This point can be easily addressed as true:

Per WaPo:

On a crisp morning last October, 198 migrants arrived on the Greek island of Leros, all of them seemingly desperate people seeking sanctuary in Europe. But hiding among them were four men with a very different agenda.

The four were posing as war-weary Syrians — all carrying doctored passports with false identities. And they were on a deadly mission for the Islamic State.

Two of the four would masquerade as migrants all the way to Paris. There, at 9:20 p.m. on Nov. 13, they would detonate suicide vests near the Stade de France sports complex, fulfilling their part in the worst attack on French soil since World War II.

European security officials say they think that the Islamic State has seeded terrorist cells on the continent over the past year and was able to do so in part because the European Union failed to come to grips with a migrant crisis that opened a funnel for the militant group.

Europe is now working with Turkey to bar its doors, ending the waves of irregular migration that washed over the continent last year. But more than a million migrants — a record — have already entered. Hundreds of thousands of them, European intelligence agencies say, may have done so without thorough checks at their entry point: Greece.

The vast majority of migrants were genuinely fleeing war and poverty. But over the past six months, more than three dozen suspected militants who impersonated migrants have been arrested or died while planning or carrying out acts of terrorism. They include at least seven directly tied to the bloody attacks in Paris and Brussels.

The Islamic State is gloating that they have far more lying in wait.

“We have sent many operatives to Europe with the refugees,” an Islamic State commander said in an interview over an encrypted data service. “Some of our brothers have fulfilled their mission, but others are still waiting to be activated.”

The poll shows thirteen percent of Syrian refugees have a completely positive opinion of ISIS with another ten percent having mixed feelings on the terror group, suggesting that nearly one quarter are open to recruitment by ISIS.

Factoring the survey results with the 10,000 Syrian refugees Obama plans to bring to the United States means Obama will bring in 1,300 ISIS supporters and a total of 3,100 who do not want the US to defeat ISIS.

This next one is ironically from his own paper!

Nato commander: Isis ‘spreading like cancer’ among refugees

Refugees from the Middle East and north Africa are “masking the movement” of terrorists and criminals, Nato’s top commander told Congress on Tuesday, despite the protests of human rights groups who say that refugees overwhelmingly have no ulterior motive but escape.

In testimony to the Senate armed services committee, US general Philip Breedlove said that the Islamic State terror group is “spreading like a cancer” among refugees. The group’s members are “taking advantage of paths of least resistance, threatening European nations and our own”, he added.

Christian refugees from Syria claim they saw a former Islamic State member living in Frankfurt, and that this is not an isolated case. Police investigated but refused to file charges because the alleged terrorist has done nothing criminal in Germany.

The Syrian operative claimed more than 4,000 covert ISIS gunmen had been smuggled into western nations – hidden amongst innocent refugees.

The ISIS smuggler, who is in his thirties and is described as having a trimmed jet-black beard, revealed the ongoing clandestine operation is a complete success.

"Just wait," he smiled.

Brussels, Belgium (CNN)The attorney for two former hostages told CNN that her clients have identified Brussels bomber Najim Laachraoui as an ISIS jailer of foreign hostages in Syria.

Laachraoui, 24, was one of two suicide bombers in the March 22 attacks at the Brussels Airport. Those attacks and another one the same day at a subway station in Brussels killed 32 people and wounded more than 300 others.

endorsed torture

Well, this is a mixed bag. I don't consider waterboarding torture when done to terrorists who may have knowledge of an imminent attack.

Although, I guess because he has referenced doing worse mentioned killing families of terrorists, but he has said he will stay within the laws, not ordering military officers to disobey law:

and insisted that Muslims in New Jersey held rooftop celebrations on 11 September 2001.

We KNOW for a fact the Orlando gunman celebrated. He was in school at the time. He was still a youth. You think he came up with that alone? Kids are highly influenced by parents and community at that age. If he was surrounded by parents and people who condemned the attack, why would he celebrate alone? I'll continue with sources, though:

Now, Former New York Police Department Commissioner Bernard Kerik has vindicated Trump in his claims, noting that there were many post-9/11 celebrations by NYC-area Muslims.

CNN Report: American Muslims celebrating 9/11

CBS report:

Just a couple of blocks away from that Jersey City apartment the F.B.I. raided yesterday and had evidence removed, there is another apartment building, one that investigators told me, quote, was swarming with suspects — suspects who I’m told were cheering on the roof when they saw the planes slam into the Trade Center. Police were called to the building by neighbors and found eight men celebrating, six of them tenants in the building.

The F.B.I. and other terrorist task force agencies arrived, and the older investigators on the task force recalled that they had been to this building before, eight years ago, when the first World Trade Center attack led them to Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, whose Jersey City mosque lies between the two buildings getting attention today. And the older investigators remember that the suspects that eventually got convicted for the first Trade Center case … lived in the building where these same eight men were celebrating the destruction that they saw from the roof. Calling this a hot address, the task force investigators ordered everyone detained.

In Chicago, a rally was canceled after supporters and protesters clashed in a chaotic scene.

The chaotic scene was a mere "clash". What it was was radical leftists and paid agitators who came into the Trump rally and caused havoc. The people inside didn't set out to interfere with these people. They came to them.

As the nominee apparent, he continued to make false and inflammatory statements. Refugees were coming to the US with cellphones showing Isis flags, he said.

Hundreds of asylum seekers entering Norway have been discovered with images of “Isis flags” and “executions” on their mobile phones, Norwegian police have said.

The Police Immigration (PU) in Norway have reportedly been working under severe strain to register increasing numbers of refugees hoping to seek asylum in the country.

Police told the Norwegian newspaper Nettavisen “hundreds” of examples of “photos and videos of executions and brutal punishments, such as images of people holding up severed heads or hands” have been found after searching the luggage and phones of new arrivals.

A federal judge presiding over a lawsuit against Trump University was biased against him because he was “Mexican”. In fact, Gonzalo Curiel was born and raised in Indiana.

Trump articulated this poorly as he should have instead gone into the La Raza connection, the fact the judge kept the case open after the plaintiff walked, and the judge releasing info he shouldn't have. However, the media should ask Trump (which they won't) if all judges of Mexican heritage would be biased. My guess is that Trump will say no.

Now we come to the lament at the end:

There have always been unwritten rules and basic constraints. Trump doesn’t abide by such delicacies. He’s not a politician. Politicians have shame.

He’s a salesman, willing to say whatever it takes to get you into this car today. There is an almost pathological need to exaggerate on every point. Crowd sizes are invariably increased two- or threefold. Illegal immigrants don’t just raise economic issues and swell the labor market; they are rapists and murderers.

Illegal immigrants do take American jobs, and there is a large cost to the taxpayer. Also, he never said they are all rapists and murderers, but some are. I guess that's too PC to point out.

But in doing this, to quote David Frum, Trump has broken the guardrails of democracy, changing what is acceptable behavior for a figure in public life. Trump is not the first person in modern American politics to realize that stoking violence and telling outright lies can lead to political success. He just is the first to have the sheer gall to do it.

Stoking violence? Laughable. The vast majority is from leftists who can't deal with the fact Trump has a different opinion than them.

If the majority of the press covering you hates you, how can you get fair coverage?
